Internship, Security Services Coordinator, Security & Intelligence (Summer 2025)

This position is expected to start around May 2025 and continue through the Summer term (approximately August 2025) or into Fall 2025 if available and there is an opportunity to do so. We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time and on-site, for most internships. Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program. Recent graduates seeking employment after graduation and not returning to school should apply for full-time positions, not internships.
International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.
About the Team
As a Security Service Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational availability of Tesla's physical security systems. Tesla's Security Team is responsible for securing a complex mix of manufacturing, retail, and corporate facilities that provide a variety of physical and technical challenges. You will apply your technical skills to ensure that global technology standards are maintained, and critical issues are resolved in a rapid manner. Newly commissioned sites will be transitioned to you and your team to maintain system uptimes until site closure. This role will be based out of Austin or Fremont but will provide global support as needed to support Tesla's growth and mission.
What You'll Do
- Manage the intake of all service issues and end user requests within SLAs
- Provide initial review of all systems-related issues and ensure that initial trouble shooting iscompleted prior to dispatching field engineers
- Provides clear and accurate directions to field engineering teams identifying site deficienciesand directions on how to remediate deficiencies
- Works closely with Security Engineering programming and commissioning teams ensuring thatnew sites are reviewed and validated prior to transfer of responsibility
- Provides consultancy service to Project Managers to audit sites and provides data on non-compliant sites
- Identify opportunities to improve operational processes and performance, reducing time toresolve and help increase service efficiency
- Maintain system site documentation including service history, invoice management, siteinstallation and service photos
- Help to create and maintain knowledge database ensuring that all team members have accessto relevant and accurate information
What You'll Bring
- Currently pursuing a degree in a Engineering, Mathematical or Technical field of study with a graduation date between 2025 – 2026
- Willing to relocate and work on site in Austin, TX
- Experience programming and commissioning or designing, installing, and maintaining technical security systems for corporate, manufacturing, and retail facilities
- Knowledge of low voltage electrical systems, video management systems, access control systems, and other technical security systems and devices
- Experience with industry standard installation tools and safety practices
- Highly organized, with solid time management skills and acute attention to detail preferred
