What to Expect What You’ll Do What You’ll Bring
The Controls Engineer in Castings will be responsible for developing, implementing, commissioning, troubleshooting and programming robot applications, conveyor systems, equipment such as the largest die cast machines in the world (Giga Press) and process/equipment monitoring systems within our castings shop. In addition, will collaborate with the maintenance team to fix and improve equipment failures and assist design engineers in the selection of electronic components for equipment.
- Responsible for implementing and managing continuous process optimization including the addition of advanced and conventional technologies to improve quality, productivity and reduce overall waste
- Exceptional with FANUC robotics and Siemens PLCs Software and Hardware changes
- Develop & maintain proper documentation of all electrical equipment and associated procedures, making updates as required by modifications
- Responsibility for designing, selecting, managing, programming, and commissioning of automation equipment used to improve the existing systems
- Identify weak areas of the production systems using root cause analysis and first principles thinking and implement effective countermeasures using all available means
- BS in Electrical, Mechatronics, or Mechanical Engineering
- 3+ years of professional controls engineering experience with advanced PLC programming knowledge on Rockwell, Siemens and equivalent PLCs in a professional environment, HMI programming experience – Ignition and Siemens preferred
- Proficient in CAD working with electrical diagrams and prints. ePlan Preferred
- In depth knowledge of Electrical Standards (NFPA79, National Electric code, UL508A) and Safety standards (ANSI/RIA15.06, OSHA)
- Proficiency selecting appropriate circuit protectors, wire and cable, sensors, safety hardware, PLC hardware, remote I/O, VFD and servo systems
