Sr. Product Content Manager, Industrial Energy Software (Palo Alto)

We're seeking a Product Marketing Manager with deep knowledge of energy software and strong background in software marketing, including market bidding platforms, energy management systems (EMS), and grid-interactive controls for large-scale batteries and hybrid power plants. This role will focus on driving content for Tesla's energy management software platform used with Powerpack, Megapack, and integrated microgrid solutions.
As a key team member, you will shape how Tesla's industrial software suite is perceived in the market-developing compelling messaging, content, and go-to-market strategies that speak directly to utility, commercial, and industrial energy stakeholders. You will partner with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Global Marketing to position Tesla's software as a market-leading solution for asset optimization and grid services across the project and customer lifecycle. A strong grasp of the evolving energy market landscape, particularly as it relates to renewables, distributed energy resources, and system flexibility, is essential.
What You'll Do
- Lead product marketing strategy for Tesla's industrial software suite, focusing on grid-scale battery storage, EMS, and automated market participation
- Craft differentiated messaging around software capabilities such as real-time dispatch optimization, market bidding integration, plant-level controls, and virtual power plant
- Work closely with Product, Engineering, and Operational teams to translate highly technical features into customer-facing value propositions
- Support go-to-market planning for new software features, regional market entry strategies, and cross-functional launch initiatives
- Collaborate with regional Sales and Business Development to create localized collateral and content tailored to key market structures and regulations (e.g., capacity markets, balancing markets, ancillary services)
- Analyze customer, competitive, and regulatory landscapes to guide messaging and prioritize product marketing activities
- Develop and manage a suite of sales enablement tools, including pitch decks, brochures, case studies, videos, and demo assets
- Partner with Global Growth & Content teams to maintain consistent branding while tailoring campaigns for global audiences
- Measure and report on the performance of marketing initiatives, including influence on sales pipeline, customer engagement, and market adoption
What You'll Bring
- Degree in an engineering discipline strongly preferred, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years in B2B product marketing, with strong background in the energy and renewables industry, including solar, wind, distributed energy resources (DERs)
- 5+ years of experience in software, controls, or energy platforms, with deep understanding of energy storage systems (ESS), Energy Management Systems (EMS), market bidding and optimization tools such as Autobidder, SCADA/DCS, or hybrid power plant controls
- Experience working within highly regulated industries (e.g., energy, healthcare) with a strong understanding of how compliance and policy frameworks shape product positioning and go-to-market strategies
- Familiarity with key US and international energy markets and programs
- Deep passion for changing the way we use energy on the electric grid
- Proven experience developing marketing materials for complex software platforms or operational technologies to influence technical and executive audiences
- Intellectual curiosity and engineering mindset. Eager to dive deep into the technical details of complex energy solutions and translate them into clear value propositions for customers
- Ability to balance foundational work with rapid execution: building core narratives, playbooks, and frameworks while also producing high-impact content (sales deck, customer-facing materials)
- Ability to analyze market and competitor trends and translate them into actionable product marketing insights. Excellent collaboration skills across cross-functional, globally distributed teams

Expected Compensation: $108,000 - $228,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
