Natrium Procurement Manager

The Natrium Procurement Manager reports directly to the Director, Natrium Procurement. This position is focused on managing the Natrium procurement process in addition to overseeing major Natrium procurement tasks in this role, you will manage a dedicated team of supplier project engineers to conduct the bid, evaluate, and award (BEA) phase and oversee the successful suppliers in support of TerraPower’s advanced nuclear reactor project. This position also supports the Director in continuous improvement processes for the Natrium Procurement Group. In addition, the Natrium Procurement Manager will oversee critical procurements as necessary. This position will be located at the Bellevue Technology Center facility.

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned Natrium Procurement Supplier Project Engineers (SPE)
  • Ensures SPEs deliver project work within schedule and cost constraints in collaboration with Technical Representatives, Contract Administrators, Quality Control, and Project Account Engineers.
  • Support SPEs with respect to supplier selection activities through the supplier bid, evaluate, and award stages.
  • Provide direction to SPEs with respect to supplier design, test, fabrication, delivery and commissioning activities.
  • Assure compliance to procedures, standards and regulatory criteria
  • Work with the Senior Manager to optimize and improve processes to expedite awards and oversee suppliers.
  • As necessary, develop statements of work (SOW) and manage critical procurements.
  • Maintain awareness of supplier technical capabilities, organization changes and relationships to ensure positive feedback to TerraPower
  • Ability to work effectively within a highly collaborative environment
  • Effectively communicates project expectations and assignments to project teams
  • Provides clear and concise updates of project progress
  • Leverages technical knowledge and experience combined with analytical thinking to execute work
  • Uses problem solving skills and operational judgement to make decisions and solve project issues
  • As directed by the Natrium Procurement Director, coordinate with Corporate Procurement, Natrium Procurement, Project Controls, Engineering, Quality Assurance and other Project Groups to support the Natrium Demonstration Project and future commercial reactor opportunities.
  • Work with Human Resources to recruit additional staff.
  • Train and develop assigned Supplier Project Engineers
  • Establish and enforce procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Implement quality assurance policy and requirements for the project.

Key Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor of Science Degree required
  • PMP, PE credentials preferred
  • 10 years’ experience in supplier oversight
  • Experience in ASME NQA-1 environment preferred
  • In depth experience interacting with technical and commercial teams
  • Demonstrated experience from a procurement perspective with Statement of Work, BEA processes (bid, evaluate, award)

Salary Range Level 12: $169,922 - $235,464

  • Typically, our employee salaries are within .90 – 1.0 of the mid-point of the posted salary band. Any salary offered within the posted salary band is based on market data and commensurate with the selected individual’s qualifications and experience. This range is specific to Washington State.
