Sustainability & Resiliency Services Intern
Terracon has an exciting internship opportunity to support our Sustainability & Resiliency Services (S+R) group, with a primary focus on the Sustainability & Climate Solutions practice. This internship will support projects across multiple industries and geographies, while working closely with our national sustainability team.
In this official program, you will take part in a meaningful and engaging work experience as you work alongside experienced sustainability professionals and subject matter experts who are advancing climate-smart and resilient solutions for our clients. You will gain hands-on exposure to sustainability consulting, learning how data-driven insights, technical analysis, and collaboration across disciplines help organizations meet their environmental, social, and climate-related goals.
You will be assigned a leader/mentor within the Sustainability & Climate Solutions practice. Your mentor will support your professional development, help you understand career pathways in sustainability consulting, and guide your technical skill development. You will learn how sustainability consulting services are delivered, how teams collaborate across service lines, and how Terracon partners with clients to turn sustainability goals into measurable outcomes.
To ensure you are prepared for the internship, Terracon will provide required onboarding and safety training prior to starting. This training will help you understand Terracon’s safety culture, quality management system, and expectations for professional conduct.
You will also have the opportunity to participate in an intern cohort. The cohort experience allows you to connect with other interns across the company, learn about different service lines, and build your professional network. At the end of the summer, the cohort will collaborate on a presentation shared with Terracon leadership.

- Sustainability and climate-related assessments and baseline evaluations
- Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions data collection, calculation, and review
- Climate action planning and emissions reduction strategies
- Sustainability and ESG data management and organization
- Sustainability reporting and disclosure support
- Research and benchmarking of sustainability frameworks, standards, and regulations
- Data analysis, quality checks, and documentation
- Preparation of technical memoranda, figures, tables, and client-facing reports
- Internal coordination with project managers and subject matter experts
- Understanding how sustainability and climate solutions integrate with other Terracon service lines
- Assist with sustainability and climate-related data collection, organization, and analysis
- Support project teams with research, documentation, and report preparation
- Help compile and review sustainability metrics, calculations, and supporting documentation
- Provide assistance to sustainability professionals on routine project tasks
- Participate in internal meetings, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing activities
- Be placed in a progressively increased role of responsibility as skills and experience grow
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, science, technical, or business related fields
- Interest in consulting and fieldwork
- Demonstrated curiosity, teamwork, and alignment with Terracon’s values
- A valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history may be required
