Instrumentation & Controls Engineer – Power Distribution Projects
Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid Schedule – 3 days onsite)

We’re looking for an experienced Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineer who thrives on technical challenges, values collaboration, and is eager to contribute to the safe and efficient operation of power facilities.
You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary group designing, upgrading, and modifying plant systems — ensuring reliability, compliance, and innovation at every stage. This is a hands-on role with opportunities to lead teams, mentor emerging engineers, and engage with clients and project stakeholders.
What You’ll Do
Design and implement I&C systems for plant modifications, including digital upgrades
Develop engineering change packages — wiring diagrams, schematics, P&IDs, logic diagrams, and instrument hookups
Specify and evaluate instrumentation for process variables such as pressure, temperature, flow, and level
Prepare technical specifications, perform set-point and electrical load calculations, and review vendor submittals
Lead and mentor engineering teams while ensuring compliance with nuclear industry standards and regulations
Collaborate with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams to deliver solutions on schedule and within scope
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Controls Engineering
5+ years’ experience in design, operations, or field support for power plants or heavy industrial facilities
Minimum 3 years’ experience with operating U.S. nuclear power plants and familiarity with standard nuclear design processes
Proven leadership skills in guiding engineers and technicians, plus mentoring junior team members
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with engineering design tools and documentation processes
Eligibility to work in the U.S. (U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder) and ability to obtain unescorted nuclear plant access
