Senior Product Engineer

Hybrid - 2 days a week in central London

£70,000 - £90,000 dependent on experience

Please note - must be comfortable with agentic development

I’m working closely with a purpose-driven GreenTech startup who're looking for a Senior Product Engineer to join their small but high performing development team.

Their work sits at the intersection of climate, biodiversity, and technology, helping to remove huge volumes of CO₂ from the atmosphere, restore ecosystems at scale, and create sustainable livelihoods for rural communities around the world.

This is a genuinely mission led company where the technology you build directly contributes to measurable environmental impact.

The Opportunity

This is not your standard engineering role where you’re handed tickets and asked to deliver against a fixed spec.

We're looking for a Senior Product Engineer who thrives in ownership, ambiguity, and fast-moving environments, someone who can take a problem, shape the solution, and ship it end-to-end.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Acting as a true full-stack engineer, contributing across the entire product (any OOP language considered)
  • Taking full ownership of problem spaces, from discovery and design through to delivery and iteration
  • Building scalable, high-quality products in a low-process, high-trust environment
  • Collaborating directly with cross-functional stakeholders to translate real-world challenges into technical solutions
  • Using modern AI tooling (VS Code, Copilot, etc.) to accelerate development in a practical, effective way
  • Contributing to product thinking, helping shape roadmap, priorities, and technical direction
  • Continuously improving systems, architecture, and developer experience as the product evolves

What They’re Looking For

  • A product-minded engineer who cares about outcomes, not just output
  • A true full stack engineer - we're happy to consider any OOP languages (C#, Javascript, PHP, Typescript etc)
  • Someone comfortable with ambiguity and autonomy, you don’t need everything defined upfront
  • A strong communicator who can engage confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and customers
  • A pragmatic builder who can balance speed, quality, and impact
  • Someone excited by using AI as a tool to enhance productivity, not replace thinking

Nice to Have

  • Experience building or maintaining Android/mobile applications
  • Background in startup or early-stage environments
  • Exposure to data-heavy or operationally complex systems

This is a rare opportunity to step into a role where your work directly contributes to tackling climate change and restoring ecosystems at scale. If you're interested in learning more, please apply directly to this advert.
