About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Teacher Trainer in Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), Climate and Environmental Education for our courses in Ireland to support educators in integrating sustainability principles into their teaching practice through innovative, learner-centered approaches.
You will design and deliver professional development programmes, facilitate workshops, mentor teachers, and contribute to the development of high-quality training materials.
Our courses will take place face-to-face and on-site in real classrooms (not online). Courses usually start on Monday and end on Friday and take place in the morning.
Please note that this position is not a permanent employment offer, but an EXTERNAL freelancer opportunity based on the approved Erasmus+ projects.
Key responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging teacher training courses, workshops, and seminars on Education for Sustainable Development, climate education, environmental sustainability, and related topics.
- Support educators in integrating sustainability competencies, systems thinking, global citizenship, and action-oriented learning into their teaching practice.
- Adapt training content and methodologies to different educational contexts, subject areas, and learner groups.
- Facilitate collaborative learning, critical reflection, and the practical application of ESD pedagogies.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a teacher trainer, instructional coach, or professional development facilitator.
- Strong background in pedagogy and curriculum design.
- Demonstrated expertise in Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), climate change education, environmental education, sustainability, or related fields.
- Excellent facilitation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to engage and motivate adult learners.
- Fluency in English; additional European languages are an asset.
