Who we are

Teachersrise organises teacher training courses and projects for schools from all over Europe, all funded by the Erasmus+ programme. Our team is made up of a network of experienced teacher trainers, and we are dedicated to teachers who want to undertake professional development in a friendly atmosphere for learning and transformation. We are based in Padova but we work in several locations around Italy and Europe. At the moment, we are looking for a trainer for our courses in Barcelona.


About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Teacher Trainer in Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), Climate and Environmental Education to support educators in integrating sustainability principles into their teaching practice through innovative, learner-centered approaches.

You will design and deliver professional development programmes, facilitate workshops, mentor teachers, and contribute to the development of high-quality training materials. The ideal candidate combines strong pedagogical expertise with substantial experience in ESD, climate change education, environmental literacy, and whole-school approaches to sustainability.


Our courses will take place face-to-face and on-site in real classrooms (not online). Courses usually start on Monday and end on Friday and take place in the morning.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and deliver engaging teacher training courses, workshops, and seminars on Education for Sustainable Development, climate education, environmental sustainability, and related topics.
  • Support educators in integrating sustainability competencies, systems thinking, global citizenship, and action-oriented learning into their teaching practice.
  • Adapt training content and methodologies to different educational contexts, subject areas, and learner groups.
  • Facilitate collaborative learning, critical reflection, and the practical application of ESD pedagogies.
  • Provide constructive feedback, coaching, and mentoring to participating teachers.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and contribute to the continuous improvement of training programmes and materials.


Requirements

  • Proven experience as a teacher trainer, instructional coach, or professional development facilitator.
  • Strong background in pedagogy and curriculum design.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), climate change education, environmental education, sustainability, or related fields.
  • Familiarity with key European and international frameworks, such as the UNESCO ESD framework, GreenComp, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), or similar initiatives.
  • Excellent facilitation, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to engage and motivate adult learners.
  • Fluency in English; additional European languages are an asset.
