The Role

We’re seeking a Development Manager / Senior Development Manager to support the advancement of community solar and distributed generation projects across key markets. This role is ideal for someone with strong project development experience and a track record of moving projects through critical development milestones.

The ideal candidate will bring experience across community solar, ground mount, and distributed generation development, with added interest in candidates who know Mid-Atlantic and Northeast markets.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Support the development of distributed generation projects, with a focus on community solar and ground mount solar
  • Manage projects through key development milestones including siting, permitting, interconnection, stakeholder coordination, and pre-construction handoff
  • Serve as a lead point of contact on active projects and help drive timelines, issue resolution, and overall project execution
  • Partner cross-functionally with internal teams including real estate, interconnection, finance, engineering, and construction
  • Identify project risks early and proactively support solutions
  • Support budgeting, scheduling, and portfolio tracking across active projects
  • Maintain strong working relationships with local jurisdictions, utilities, consultants, landowners, and external partners
  • Contribute to process improvements and support team growth as the platform scales


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in renewable energy development
  • Strong background in community solar development
  • Experience with ground mount and distributed generation solar projects
  • Proven ability to manage projects across multiple stages of development
  • Strong understanding of permitting, interconnection, land use, and stakeholder management
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment


Preferred Background

  • Experience in Mid-Atlantic and Northeast markets strongly preferred
  • Markets such as Maryland, New York, Massachusetts, New Jersey, or surrounding regions are especially relevant
  • Experience with acquired, mid-stage, or later-stage development pipelines is a plus
  • Prior experience in a developer, IPP, or distributed generation platform environment preferred
