A private equity-backed platform focused on acquiring and redeveloping legacy industrial and power facilities across the U.S. into utility-scale renewable generation, energy storage, and mixed-use infrastructure assets. The company is led by a deeply experienced executive team with a proven track record in environmental remediation, project development, and energy infrastructure. With significant institutional backing, the platform is well-positioned for rapid growth and long-term impact across the energy transition landscape.

The Role

The Director/VP of Finance will oversee the full scope of corporate and project-level financial operations, reporting directly to the CEO. This leader will own accounting, FP&A, treasury, compliance, and risk management, while building out a high-performing finance function aligned with the company’s growth strategy. The role requires both strategic vision and hands-on execution across systems, controls, and reporting. The ideal candidate is comfortable navigating capital markets, managing external stakeholders, and serving as a financial partner to the executive team.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting, Reporting & Compliance

  • Lead all accounting operations: GL, AP/AR, payroll, and project cost accounting
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with US GAAP
  • Oversee audits, tax filings, and lender compliance processes

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Develop and manage corporate and project-level budgets and forecasts
  • Analyze financial results and deliver reporting to senior leadership and the Board
  • Track key financial and operational metrics; recommend performance improvements

Capital Markets & Treasury

  • Manage cash flow, treasury functions, and capital calls
  • Support project financing: debt, equity, tax equity, and refinancing structures
  • Maintain compliance with all lending agreements and financial covenants

Risk Management & Controls

  • Oversee insurance programs and risk mitigation strategies
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures
  • Manage the ERP system and ensure financial system integrity across entities

Strategic Finance & Leadership

  • Evaluate investment opportunities, M&A, and capital allocation strategies
  • Lead financial, tax, and insurance due diligence for transactions
  • Build and mentor a high-performing finance team
  • Act as a strategic advisor to the CEO and executive leadership

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience; 5+ in leadership roles
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA and/or CPA preferred
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP; familiarity with US tax law a plus
  • Experience with FP&A, project finance, treasury, and ERP systems (Sage Intacct preferred)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
