Sustainability Specialist
Tallahassee State College (TSC), recently recognized as one of the Most Promising Places to Work in Community Colleges for 2025 , is excited to announce a full-time opening for the position of Sustainability Specialist - P00806 with Facilities.
What You'll Do
The primary functions of a Sustainability Specialist for the Facilities department are to perform information-processing operations, utilizing multiple software programs and peripheral equipment related to the successful tracking, maintenance, management and sustainability of the campus facilities, utilities and construction projects. These functions are of considerable variety and complexity requiring exercising considerable judgment and initiative in completing assignments for the Facilities Administrative Services Manager and/or Facilities Director.
Day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Maintaining current, accurate and detailed building floor plan data in multiple Software systems and formats. Assists Facilities Administrative Services Manager in the ongoing updates of Site, Facility and Room inventory to coincide with current floor plans.
Assisting in the support of system software through maintenance and diagnosis of problems with implementation of changes to resolve problems, maintain information and improve procedures. Assists in the development and implementation of specialized programs and routines to supplement and enhance system software related to Sustainability, Energy, Utility, Project and Inventory Management.
Ensuring sustainability pervades in every aspect of Facilities Management and is embedded across all TSC campuses by developing graphs and reports to demonstrate TSC's ability to meet the desired sustainability standards including all types of social and environmental impacts. Develops and maintains graphs and reporting tools demonstrating cost/usage of utilities, recycling operations, cost of "Going Green" i.e. shift from gas to electric vehicles, tools and equipment, etc.
Who We're Looking For
We're seeking a candidate who brings not only technical expertise but also a passion for education and student success. Our ideal candidate will have:
Associate degree from an accredited college or university and four (4) years' experience in Computer Operations, Systems, and/or Computer Programing; Sustainability Initiatives; Facilities Administration, Operations or related fields.
Or equivalent years' experience in related field(s) can substitute for educational requirement but Graduation from high school (standard high school or equivalency diploma) is mandatory.
Completion of an Accredited Autodesk Program.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
