In-House Counsel, Energy Transactions & Project Development

Location: Denver, CO

An energy and infrastructure company is seeking an attorney to support commercial energy transactions and renewable project development activities.

The role will work closely with internal commercial and development teams on a variety of energy-related agreements and strategic initiatives across renewable generation and power supply transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial energy agreements, including power purchase agreements and related transaction documents
  • Advise internal stakeholders on contractual risk, commercial terms, and transaction structuring
  • Support renewable energy and infrastructure development matters, including construction, operations, and interconnection-related agreements
  • Coordinate with outside counsel and internal business teams on transaction execution and legal support
  • Assist with development of templates, internal processes, and compliance-related matters

Qualifications

  • J.D. and active bar admission in good standing
  • 3–8 years of relevant transactional experience
  • Experience negotiating commercial energy agreements, infrastructure contracts, or related transactions
  • Familiarity with renewable energy, energy infrastructure, or power markets preferred
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and commercial judgment skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and collaborative environment
