In-House Counsel, Energy Transactions & Project Development
Location: Denver, CO
An energy and infrastructure company is seeking an attorney to support commercial energy transactions and renewable project development activities.
The role will work closely with internal commercial and development teams on a variety of energy-related agreements and strategic initiatives across renewable generation and power supply transactions.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial energy agreements, including power purchase agreements and related transaction documents
- Advise internal stakeholders on contractual risk, commercial terms, and transaction structuring
- Support renewable energy and infrastructure development matters, including construction, operations, and interconnection-related agreements
- Coordinate with outside counsel and internal business teams on transaction execution and legal support
- Assist with development of templates, internal processes, and compliance-related matters
Qualifications
- J.D. and active bar admission in good standing
- 3–8 years of relevant transactional experience
- Experience negotiating commercial energy agreements, infrastructure contracts, or related transactions
- Familiarity with renewable energy, energy infrastructure, or power markets preferred
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and commercial judgment skills
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and collaborative environment
