Business Head (Carbon & Sustainability Solutions) - Upto 50 LPA
Talentiser has been mandated to hire a Business Head for a leading Climate-Tech company.
We are looking for a seasoned Business Head to lead and scale their carbon markets and
sustainability consulting business. This is a senior leadership role for someone with deep
experience in carbon credits, I-RECs, energy markets, or ESG-driven solutions, who can own
both strategy and execution.
You will be responsible for P&L, growth, and market leadership of this vertical, lead and
mentor Business Development and Account Management teams, drive enterprise partnerships,
and work closely with the CEO on long-term business and go-to-market strategy. This role
goes beyond sales – it is about building a high-impact climate solutions business with
credibility, collaboration, and innovation at its core.
Note: Prior experience in carbon, power exchange, energy, or closely related sectors is
mandatory. Applications without relevant domain experience will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
• Own and drive the business strategy, P&L, and growth for carbon and sustainability
solutions
• Lead, mentor, and scale a team of Business Development Managers and Account
Leaders across regions and sectors
• Design and execute sector-specific GTM and expansion strategies in carbon markets
and ESG-led solutions
• Build and deepen relationships with CXOs, Sustainability Heads, and senior decisionmakers
• Oversee qualification, prioritisation, and conversion of high-value opportunities and
strategic accounts
• Lead negotiations and closure of large, complex enterprise deals in carbon, clean
energy, and sustainability domains
• Drive account growth, upsell, and cross-sell strategies while ensuring long-term client
success and retention
• Stay ahead of evolving climate policies, regulations, global standards, and market
trends and convert them into business opportunities
• Work directly with the CEO and leadership team on organizational strategy, product–
market fit, and new market entry
• Represent Sustainiam at international climate forums, industry conferences, and
high-level stakeholder engagements
• Ensure robust pipeline management, forecasting, and CRM hygiene across the team
Who We’re Looking For
You are a strategic, outcome-driven business leader who thrives in dynamic markets. You have
deep exposure to carbon or sustainability ecosystems, have led high-performing teams, and
can build and close complex, multi-stakeholder partnerships.
Must-Have
• 10–15 years of overall experience, with at least 5–7 years in carbon credits, I-RECs,
energy markets, or sustainability consulting
• Strong background in carbon, power exchange, energy, or allied industries
• Demonstrated track record of enterprise sales, strategic partnerships, and closing
large-scale deals
• Experience in leading teams, managing P&L, and owning business outcomes
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Energy, or related
disciplines
• Postgraduate degree in Business, Sustainability, or Environmental Management
preferred
• Deep domain understanding of voluntary carbon markets, I-REC mechanisms, ESG
frameworks, and sustainability services
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities
• Fluency in English; additional regional or global languages are a plus
• A strategic, analytical mindset with a strong bias for action and measurable climate
impact
