Job Description

Tacoma Energy

Looking for a highly driven person who wants to join a growing company in the energy efficiency industry.

About Tacoma Energy
Tacoma Energy is a growing leader in the energy-efficiency industry, partnering with new-home builders and HVAC contractors to deliver high-quality, cost-effective energy solutions. We take pride in our down-to-earth, collaborative workplace and our commitment to doing the job right the first time. As our company continues to expand, we’re looking for team members who want to grow with us.

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly driven and adaptable Accounting Clerk to join our Westerville office. This role requires someone who learns quickly, communicates clearly, and can thrive in a fast-moving environment where responsibilities may evolve over time. While we provide hands-on training, this position is best suited for individuals who can think on their feet, ask questions, and take initiative to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

A significant portion of this position involves collections, so confidence, professionalism, follow-through, and strong communication are essential.

Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R)
  • Collections and follow-up communication with clients
  • Administrative support for special projects
  • Cross-training in various administrative and accounting functions as business needs evolve
  • Maintaining high accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks

What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Experience with general accounting
  • Strong communication skills — written, verbal, and interpersonal
  • Ability to ask questions, seek clarity, and identify errors rather than accept incorrect information
  • Quick learning ability and adaptability to new tasks, systems, and changes in responsibilities
  • Confidence managing a heavy workload while staying organized
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Experience with QuickBooks
  • Self-motivation, reliability, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Familiarity with construction or HVAC industries (preferred but not required)
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

What We Offer

  • Starting pay: $20–$24/hour, based on experience
  • Healthcare benefits: medical, dental, vision
  • Paid time off
  • Full-time employment
  • Hands-on, role-specific training
  • A casual, supportive work environment

We are interviewing and hiring immediately.
If you are hardworking, adaptable, and ready to grow with a company making an impact in the energy-efficiency field, we would love to hear from you.
