Role Overview

We are looking for a Country Manager – India who will be responsible for building Zehnder’s business in India from the ground up.

This is not a standard sales management role. It is a market entry, business development, and business build-up role for a senior commercial professional who can create opportunities, build relationships, develop channels, build pipeline, deliver revenue and lay the foundation for Zehnder’s long-term presence in India.

The selected candidate will act as Zehnder’s first commercial representative in the Indian market and will work closely with the international leadership team to establish the brand, develop partnerships, and generate early business traction.


Key Responsibilities

  • Market Entry & Business Development
  • Establish Zehnder’s commercial presence in India.
  • Identify high-potential market segments, applications, regions, and customer groups.
  • Develop and execute a practical go-to-market strategy for India.
  • Build a strong pipeline of opportunities across relevant sectors.
  • Generate first reference projects and early customer wins.
  • Channel & Partner Network Development
  • Identify, appoint, and manage distributors, dealers, system integrators, and other channel partners.
  • Build a reliable partner ecosystem to support long-term business growth.
  • Evaluate partner capability, market reach, commercial commitment, and technical fit.
  • Drive partner engagement, enablement, and performance.


Specification & Project Sales

  • Engage with MEP consultants, HVAC consultants, architects, developers, contractors, and institutional stakeholders.
  • Promote Zehnder’s solutions in relevant projects at the specification stage.
  • Build visibility for Zehnder’s products among decision-makers and influencers in the building technology ecosystem.
  • Support project identification, qualification, proposal development, and closure.


Networking & Market Development

  • Build strong relationships within the Indian HVAC, ventilation, building technology, and indoor air quality ecosystem.
  • Represent Zehnder at industry events, exhibitions, conferences, and forums.
  • Develop networks with organisations such as ISHRAE, MEP consultants, developers, contractors, and channel partners.
  • Act as the eyes and ears of Zehnder in India by sharing market intelligence, competitor insights, pricing trends, and customer feedback.


Business Foundation Building

  • Create the foundation for a scalable India business.
  • Work independently in an entrepreneurial, early-stage market environment.
  • Develop structured reporting, pipeline visibility, partner updates, and market feedback for the global team.
  • Support future expansion planning, including team structure, channel strategy, and market prioritisation.


Ideal Candidate Profile

Experience

  • Proven leadership experience in developing and managing a local organization, with a demonstrated ability to lead and mentor teams.
  • 8–15 years of experience in HVAC, ventilation, indoor air quality, building technology, or related sectors.
  • Strong experience in business development, channel development, distributor management, or specification/project sales.
  • Prior exposure to international companies or MNC environments is preferred.
  • Experience in building a business, region, category, or partner network from scratch will be highly valued.
  • Exposure to premium, technical, energy-efficient, or specification-led products will be an advantage.
  • Strong Existing Network
