Associate Engineering Technician – Civil Site Development

Contract | Onsite | $30–$37/hr
About the Role
We are seeking an Associate Engineering Technician to join our Virtual Design & Data Solutions (VDDS) team. In this role, you will support civil site development projects within the Energy & Process Industries (E&PI) group, with a strong focus on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. The position involves preparing site drainage, grading, and utility plans using Autodesk Civil 3D (required) and Bentley MicroStation (preferred).
Key Responsibilities
Develop site drainage, grading, and utility plans using Autodesk Civil 3D (required).
Support design efforts by producing detailed site plans, profiles, construction drawings, and details.
Convert field survey data into topographic drawings and surfaces for design development.
Apply knowledge of engineering standards, systems, and document control procedures to ensure compliance with quality guidelines.
Collaborate with engineers and designers to interpret deliverables and maintain consistency across projects.
Stay current with industry technology trends and civil design best practices.
Demonstrate an understanding of construction and constructability principles in support of engineering design.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of Civil 3D experience, including proposed grading surfaces and plan development.
Knowledge of civil/site design and layout using Civil 3D and/or MicroStation.
Diploma or certificate in Drafting or Engineering Design Technology required; Associate degree preferred.
Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.
Ability to meet pre-employment requirements (background check, drug screen, MVR).
Software Skills
Required: Autodesk Civil 3D
