Demand Response Services Manager

Are you a senior energy professional ready to shape the future of grid flexibility in Ireland?

We are seeking a commercial engineering leader to head a Virtual Power Plant (VPP) and DS3 services team. Managing a team of technical specialists, you will drive the expansion of our asset flexibility portfolio across the industrial, commercial, and public sectors—overseeing projects from initial revenue modeling and tendering right through to deployment.

Core Responsibilities:

• Grid Operations: Manage the daily operations, compliance, and market participation of two key Demand Side Units (DSUs) in coordination with our Site Monitoring Centre.
• Commercial Engineering: Lead investment-grade audits, project multi-year revenue models, and design flexible energy/battery storage solutions for heavy industrial utilities.
• Procurement & Tendering: Originate project development plans, draft technical scopes of work, lead tender evaluations, and negotiate vendor contracts.
• Client & Team Management: Account-manage existing VPP clients to expand services while supporting internal teams across CHP (Combined Heat and Power) operations and our Energy Bureau.

What You Bring:

• Education: Degree in Energy Engineering or a highly related technical discipline.
• Experience: 5+ years in a senior energy infrastructure or utility role with proven experience mentoring/managing a technical team.
• Commercial Track Record: Demonstrated success evaluating complex tenders, negotiating contracts, and building robust investment-grade financial models.
• Technical Expertise: Strong familiarity with the Irish DS3 market, DSU mechanisms, CHP operations, and battery storage/hybrid solutions.
