The permitting specialist is responsible for managing regulatory permitting across multiple jobs and projects within our Division, ensuring compliance with key federal and state environmental laws. This role covers everything from permitting strategy development and permit applications to construction compliance and reporting.
Required:
- Excellent knowledge of federal, state, and local permits
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations
- Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to read and interpret maps, blueprints, and schematics
- Proficiency in microsoft office suite and other related software programs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Flexibility and adaptability to change priorities and deadlines
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ability to interact with the public, staff, customers, and outside agencies with patience, tact, respect, and professionalism
- Other duties may be assigned
- Responsible for answering heavy call volume for the programs
- Calculates, communicates, collects, processes and documents all related department fees including
-A permit specialist’s job is to process applications for building permits or construction projects.
-Be able to give applicants the correct information in case they have questions.
