Luceco Group | Sync Energy
Shape the future of connected home energy.
The transition to electrification is changing how people power their homes, charge their vehicles and interact with the energy system.
At Luceco Group, we're building solutions designed for that future.
Our EV Charging & Residential Energy Management business, primarily operating through Sync Energy, is a key strategic growth area for the Group. Sync Energy is already one of the UK's leading EV charger brands, with more than 10% UK market share, and our proposition has expanded into home battery systems and connected energy management.
We're now looking for a Director of EV Charging & Residential Energy Management to lead the next stage of that journey.
Reporting directly to the CEO, this is a senior leadership opportunity combining product strategy, technology, commercial development and go-to-market leadership.
The opportunity
You will take ownership of the end-user proposition, leading a dedicated UK product team while working closely with hardware and software engineering teams in China and colleagues across sales, marketing, customer service and supply chain.
Your remit will span the complete connected-product ecosystem, bringing together physical hardware, embedded firmware and consumer-facing applications to create a seamless customer experience.
But this is much more than a traditional product leadership position.
You'll help determine how we take our technology to market, how we strengthen our position across B2B and B2C channels, how we develop sustainable downstream and recurring revenue opportunities, and how the proposition evolves internationally.
Your leadership agenda will include:
Product & Technology Strategy
Define and deliver a multi-year hardware, software and application roadmap, anticipating technological and regulatory change and working with engineering teams in China to bring that roadmap to life.
Connected Customer Experience
Drive continuous improvement across hardware, firmware and the Sync Energy app, using customer and product data to improve functionality, visibility and issue resolution across the installed charger base.
Commercial & Recurring Revenue Growth
Identify and develop opportunities for sustainable downstream revenues, build consumer and installer-focused partnerships and establish the commercial KPIs needed to maximise long-term value.
Go-to-Market Leadership
Work alongside sales and marketing to shape product positioning, pricing and launch strategies across the UK and Ireland, while helping define the international expansion plan.
Market & Strategic Development
Bring the voice of the customer and market into the organisation, monitor the competitive landscape and co-lead the development of potential M&A opportunities within residential energy management alongside the Group M&A team.
Sales & Technical Enablement
Ensure sales teams, customers and installers have the technical knowledge and support they need, including training and specialist input into major commercial opportunities and large-scale installations.
What we're looking for
We're looking for an established leader who can operate comfortably at the intersection of technology, product and commercial strategy.
You'll bring:
- 7+ years' senior leadership experience within electrical products, systems or solutions, ideally gained within EV charging, battery storage or an adjacent market.
- Significant experience developing complex connected-product ecosystems spanning hardware, firmware and cloud/app software.
- A strong understanding of different go-to-market channels and commercial strategies.
- A proven record of successfully launching complex technical products and partnering effectively with sales and marketing teams.
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree.
Just as importantly, you'll need the commercial judgement to see beyond the product itself, connecting technology decisions with customer experience, market positioning, revenue and long-term growth.
Why this role?
This is an opportunity to take a leading role in a business already established in UK EV charging and help shape its evolution into a broader residential energy management proposition.
You'll have scope to influence product direction, connected technology, commercial strategy, sales channels, recurring revenues, international expansion and potential inorganic growth.
If your experience sits at the intersection of EV charging, home energy, connected hardware and commercial growth, we'd like to hear from you.
