We are looking for motivated and curious interns with a general interest in environment, infrastructure, and sustainable development to join our team in Copenhagen for the Fall 2026 semester.
In Sweco’s International Department, we manage complex infrastructure projects funded by development banks, multilateral and bilateral agencies, local governments, and private organisations across the globe. As an intern, you will become part of a multidisciplinary team of international colleagues who share a passion for creating sustainable and resilient solutions for our clients.
The internship is a full-time position (37 hours/week) for approximately 6 months, starting in August 2026, and runs for the entire Fall semester.

This internship is unpaid and open only to students currently enrolled at a Danish university, as the internship must be part of an academic programme. Sweco will provide an official acknowledgement in accordance with Danish regulations paid upon completion of the internship.
The internship requires full-time participation for the entire semester (approximately 6 months). Short-term internships or internships of a shorter duration cannot be accommodated.
Please note that the internship requires your physical presence at our Copenhagen office. Remote work is not possible.

What You Will Do
Your tasks will depend on your background and interests, as well as on our ongoing projects, but you can expect to:
- Support the implementation of international projects in the fields of water, wastewater, climate change, environmental management, energy and sustainable development.
- Assist in data collection, analysis, and preparation of technical or environmental reports.
- Contribute to our business development activities, such as preparing technical proposals, expressions of interest, and identifying project opportunities.
- Support project managers and senior consultants in day-to-day project coordination and documentation.
- Carry out ad hoc tasks to support our operations and project delivery.
The ideal candidate:
- Is currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s programme in Denmark within fields such as Environmental Science, Geography, Sustainable Development, International Studies, International Business, Urban Planning, or similar.
- Has a solid academic record and a structured, proactive mindset.
- Can adapt to dynamic environments and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills and enjoys working in an international team.
- Is proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Is fluent in English (C2 level). Additional language skills (e.g. French, Ukrainian) are considered an advantage, but not a requirement.
- Can work independently and takes initiative once familiar with our workflows.
- Experience or skills in AutoCAD, GIS and/or Adobe InDesign are an advantage.
