Role Description The Vice President BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Nashik. This role oversees the strategy, business development, design, implementation, and lifecycle management of BESS projects across industrial, utility, and rural electrification applications. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading technical and commercial project evaluations, guiding system architecture and integration with grid and renewable assets, and ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards. The Vice President BESS collaborates with cross-functional teams in engineering, operations, finance, and business development to drive new opportunities, develop proposals, and manage key client relationships. The role also involves mentoring teams, optimizing project execution, monitoring performance metrics, and contributing to long-term innovation and roadmap development for energy storage solutions.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Battery Energy Storage Systems, including system design, sizing, configuration, and integration with power plants and grid infrastructure.
- Should be well aware about latest developments in BESS, emerging technologies and market opportunities.
- Should be well connected with industrial and commercial user network and Independamt Power Producers (IPPs)
- Proficiency in power systems engineering and protection, covering transmission and distribution networks, grid interconnection studies, and safety standards.
- Experience with automation and control technologies such as PLC, SCADA, and related industrial control systems used in power and infrastructure projects.
- Proven leadership in project and program management, including budgeting, risk management, stakeholder coordination, and delivering complex, multi-site projects.
- Knowledge of renewable energy integration, energy management strategies, and applications of storage in peak shaving, load shifting, and grid stability.
- Background in electrical engineering or related field; advanced degree (Master’s or MBA) in engineering, energy management, or business is an advantage.
- Track record of managing and developing high-performing technical and commercial teams in the energy or infrastructure sector.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks, safety codes, and standards relevant to power systems, energy storage, and electrification projects.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, including experience in client-facing roles and strategic partnerships.
