Associate, Green Skilling
Swaniti Initiative is an ecosystem builder working toward a sustainable future in a climate constrained world. It has a strong legacy of working of supporting Parliamentarians and sub-national governments on designing and delivering interventions that respond to the climate crisis. Recently, Swaniti has been increasingly engaging with the private sector in textile, cement and steel in order to decarbonize industries. We have conducted in depth mapping at a sub national level to understand the drivers toward large scale transition. Whether it is crystallizing the financial case for energy transition or unlocking climate finance for MSMEs in hard to abate industries, Swaniti has been working with industry associations to overcome them. Through our work we have come to believe that while there is significant interest amongst industry and government to decarbonize, there aren’t clear pathways and support mechanisms to enable this shift quickly.
