About The Role


As the Sustainability and Resilience Team Leader, you will oversee a team dedicated to developing and implementing strategies that foster sustainability, resilience, and environmental stewardship. Your role will be instrumental in coordinating projects that address climate change impacts and enhance biodiversity within our community.


You will play a key role in mentoring team members, managing cross-discipline projects, and ensuring alignment with council policies and community expectations. Your leadership will guide the development of innovative solutions that promote environmental sustainability and resilience.


You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes experienced professionals with skillsets across place-making, sustainability, traffic and transport, urban design, environmental resilience and planning.


Who We're Looking For


The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in environmental science or a related field, along with substantial experience in urban planning and sustainability initiatives. You will be a big-picture thinker with experience in the delivery of strategic actions to support the implementation of Biodiversity, Sustainability and Resilience strategies.


  • Degree qualifications in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in project management, including cross-discipline initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop evidence-based solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with experience in stakeholder engagement.

  • Hours of work: Permanent Full Time. You will have the option of a 19 day month through Council’s flex system.
