Role Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented Legal Executive to support Sustainiam’s legal, regulatory, and corporate compliance functions. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial contracts, corporate legal matters, and regulatory compliance, with exposure to carbon finance, climate markets, or ESG-linked transactions.

This role offers an opportunity to work at the intersection of law, climate finance, and emerging environmental markets.

Key Responsibilities

Carbon Finance & Commercial Contracts

  • Review and negotiate Carbon Credit Purchase and Sale Agreements, PPA and ERPAs
  • Advise on forward credit sales, pricing mechanisms, liability clauses, and risk allocation
  • Structure carbon project investments, SPVs, blended finance, and revenue-sharing mechanisms.

Regulatory & Environmental Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with VCS, Gold Standard, CDM, I-REC frameworks
  • Conduct legal risk assessments related to carbon market transactions
  • Draft and negotiate commercial contracts, NDAs, MOUs, SAAS, MSA, and service agreements.
  • Support fundraising, investor agreements, and corporate structuring.
  • Advise on employment law, IP, and data protection matters
  • Maintain corporate governance compliance and statutory records.

Stakeholder & Risk Management

  • Liaise with regulators and external counsels
  • Monitor regulatory developments in carbon finance and environmental law
  • Assist in dispute resolution, arbitration, and litigation matters

Eligibility

  • LL.B from reputed university.
  • 2–3 years of experience in a law firm or corporate legal department.
  • Exposure to carbon finance and corporate legal matters.
  • Strong understanding of carbon markets, climate finance, and ESG regulations.
  • Experience in contract negotiation, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance.
  • Strong analytical, research, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
