About the Company


The Sustainable Finance Institute Asia (“SFIA”) is a neutral and independent institute established to catalyse ideas on sustainable finance at the policy level, as well as propel action in support of those policy ideas in Asia, particularly in the ASEAN region. SFIA focuses on advocacy, development and engagement to drive sustainable finance – including convening discussions, leading technical processes, identifying and shaping trends, and influencing and advocating at relevant events in the region.


We are looking a Project Associate – Disclosure with project and stakeholder management experience, positive attitude, critical thinking aptitude, and research and analysis capabilities.

 

Role Overview


The Project Associate is part of the bigger SFIA family, that works to provide unbiased and credible policy recommendations and implementation support to countries in the region, particularly ASEAN nations. Given this, it is crucial for the Project Associate to stay informed on the regional developments in the area of sustainability disclosures and sustainable finance, and have the ability to manage multiple tasks to support the delivery of the sustainability agenda.


The ideal candidate will support the development, coordination and delivery of sustainability disclosure and ESG-related initiatives across multiple stakeholders, projects and partnerships. This role is suited for a proactive, detailed-oriented and adaptable individual who is comfortable working in a dynamic environment and has interest in sustainability disclosure and reporting, ecosystem development, strategic collaborations and project execution.


This is a contract-based, on-site Project Associate role located in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.


Key Responsibilities


  • Support the execution of SFIA’s key projects and initiatives under the Disclosure pillar, particularly the Single Accesspoint for ESG Data (“SAFE”) Initiative.
  • Monitor project timelines, deliverables, dependencies and action items across multiple workstreams and maintain projects trackers to ensure effective execution and reporting.
  • Coordinate stakeholder engagements, meetings and follow-ups with ecosystem partners, industry players, NGOs and other strategic stakeholders under guidance.
  • Support the preparation of briefing notes, proposals, presentations and other communication materials for internal management and supervised external engagements.
  • Conduct research and analysis on sustainability disclosure and reporting developments, including sustainability/ESG frameworks, market initiatives, public policies and regulatory developments, and synthesise findings into clear, concise and actionable outputs to support decision-making, stakeholder engagement and project delivery.
  • Organise and maintain project documentation, reference materials and knowledge repositories to support continuity and institutional knowledge.
  • Provide cross-team support, as needed.


Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • At least 2-3 years of work experience in relevant fields, with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Sustainability, Sustainable Finance, Economics, Energy/Climate Policy, International Relations, Finance/Accountancy/Banking, Writing/Communications, Business Studies, Commerce, or related areas.
  • Native-level proficiency in English.
  • Experience working in multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Previous exposure and/or foundational understanding and familiarity with ESG concepts, sustainability disclosure and reporting standards, frameworks and guidelines is preferred.

  • Demonstrated interest in sustainable finance, climate change, sustainability or other ESG-related matters, with a willingness to continuously learn and stay abreast of emerging developments.
