Essential Job Functions & Key Responsibilities
Act as Engineer of Record for commercial solar PV projects
Lead and oversee electrical designs to ensure code compliance, safety, and optimal system performance
Enforce company safety programs in alignment with internal policies and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations
Support and improve internal design tools, standards, and workflows
Participate in conceptual and detailed system design for complex projects
Perform or oversee:
Load flow analysis
Arc flash studies
Thermal studies
Electrical modeling using ETAP or similar software
Review utility interconnection studies and coordinate with utility engineers
Provide technical mentorship and education to PV Designers and engineering team members
Support project close-out activities, including documentation review, binder compilation, and turnover coordination
Participate in project handoff and turnover processes
Conduct research to support continuous improvement and new technology deployment
Track punch list items and coordinate final resolution with subcontractors
Education & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering
5–7 years of experience designing complex electrical systems or large-scale projects
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to internal teams and customers
Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and support engineering teams
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to remain composed and effective under pressure in fast-paced environments
Experience in solar PV or renewable energy systems preferred
Familiarity with utility interconnection requirements and processes preferred
Experience working in dynamically evolving organizations preferred
Perks & Benefits
Salary Range: $125,000 – $160,000 (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Weekly Pay
Three weeks (120 hours) of vacation time, plus flexible paid time off (PTO) after the first year
12 days (96 hours) of sick leave for the first year of employment,
