Solar Field Supervisor
Job Description
We're looking for a highly capable Solar Field/Production Supervisor to manage and lead our residential solar installation projects. This "50/50" position is a critical hybrid role, requiring a dynamic leader who excels at both on-site supervision and comprehensive production coordination. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in solar installation and a proven ability to manage the entire project lifecycle, ensuring a seamless flow from planning to completion.
Responsibilities
Field Leadership & Project Execution (Approximately 50%)
Crew Management: Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of solar installers and electricians to maintain high performance and quality standards.
On-Site Supervision: Oversee all aspects of residential solar installations, ensuring projects are completed efficiently, safely, and in full compliance with electrical codes and industry standards.
Quality Control & Troubleshooting: Conduct regular site inspections, perform on-site quality checks, and act as the primary point of contact for technical issues and troubleshooting during installation.
Safety Enforcement: Uphold and enforce all safety protocols and procedures on job sites, conducting daily safety briefings and ensuring a secure work environment.
Production Coordination & Project Management (Approximately 50%)
Planning & Scheduling: Develop and manage detailed production schedules, assign tasks, and coordinate resources (including materials, equipment, and labor) to optimize project timelines.
Logistics & Procurement: Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely ordering and delivery of all materials and equipment needed for each project.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate project records, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and create detailed reports on project progress, performance, and completion status for management.
Communication & Stakeholder Management: Serve as a central communication hub, liaising between field crews, management, engineering, and customers to ensure all project parties are aligned and informed.
Administrative & Financial Oversight: Manage project budgets, track expenses, approve timesheets, and handle necessary administrative duties to support the production workflow.
Qualifications
Experience:
Extensive experience in residential solar installation is a must.
Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within the solar industry.
Direct experience in production coordination or project management within a home improvement or construction context is highly preferred.
