Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Triage unplanned work and create management solutions.
  • Communicate effectively with business partners, responding promptly to inquiries.
  • Coordinate and execute legal projects, liaising with other departments as needed.
  • Utilize technology and data to reduce costs and improve processes.
  • Track, analyze, and report on operational metrics for better decision-making.
  • Draft, review, and edit legal documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Create and administer monthly litigation and expense reports.
  • Maintain relationships and negotiate fees with outside attorneys.
  • Collaborate with parent company paralegals and attorneys to streamline operations.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and recommend process improvements.
  • Collections and provide support for litigation, company transactions, and due diligence.

Role Description

  • 35% of time: Creating documents (amendments, contracts, letters, etc.)
  • 25% of time: Providing administrative support (scheduling meetings, mail processing, assigning emails, etc.)
  • 25% of time: Updating matters, tracking deadlines, and managing correspondence, etc.
  • 15% of time: Miscellaneous legal needs.

Role Expectations

  • Communicate and coordinate with various corporate office departments as needed.
  • Complete all requests in a sensitive and timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with document retention.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree, paralegal certification, or equivalent training and three years of legal experience.
  • Understanding of legal department responsibilities and organization.
  • Strong time management, organization skills, and close attention to detail.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and draw accurate conclusions from legal and factual information.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Regular periods of sitting or standing may be required by this position. In addition, this position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
