Role Overview:

Suncycle Renewable Energy/Juuce Energy is seeking a highly motivated Commercial Solar Technician to support the installation and O&M (Operations & Maintenance) of large-scale commercial and industrial (C&I) photovoltaic systems. This role focuses on 3-phase power systems, heavy electrical integration, and utility coordination for large scale grid interconnections for warehouse flat-roof systems, carports, and community solar arrays throughout New Jersey.

 

Following the completion of our apprenticeship training program, your key responsibilities will include:

 

- Industrial Installation: Assisting with the deployment of large-scale racking, ballasted systems, and high-wattage modules.

- 3-Phase Electrical Work: Installing and troubleshooting inverters, transformers, and 480V switchgear.

- Advanced Diagnostics: Performing IV curve tracing, thermography, and insulation resistance testing.

- DAS & Networking: Configuring Data Acquisition Systems and weather stations for remote monitoring.

- O&M Oversight: Executing preventative maintenance on multi-megawatt portfolios.

- Heavy Equipment Operation: Operating scissor lifts and telehandlers while coordinating equipment staging.

 

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the NEC (Articles 690 and 705), the ability to interpret complex electrical one-line diagrams, and expertise in LOTO and NFPA 70E safety protocols. While 3–5 years of experience in commercial solar or industrial electrical construction is preferred, it is not required.

 

Following a 60-day probationary period, the following certifications are expected:

- OSHA 30 (Required)

- NABCEP PV Installation Professional (Preferred)

- NJ Journeyman License (Advantageous)

 

Candidates familiar with New Jersey’s SuSI and CSI programs and have experience with local utility interconnection requirements are preferred but not required. This position requires travel to project sites across the state, with occasional overnight stays.
