About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced technical and commercial deployment expert in the Hybrid (ICE, battery, hydrogen) Vehicle embedded systems sector. The contractor will assess the technical feasibility, deployment challenges, and go-to-market readiness of our innovative technology, drawing from extensive hands-on experience in system implementation, technical pre-sales, and solution integration within the Hybrid Vehicle embedded systems and OEM/supplier sector.
This role is ideal for a seasoned CTO, product, pre-sales or deployment leader with deep understanding of EV and hybrid vehicle OEM sector, Energy Management System (EMS) technologies and market applications, looking to engage with innovative ventures at the intersection of technology, business, and sustainability.
Following the initial project, there is an opportunity for an ongoing role as technology advisor or full-time technology lead for one or multiple ventures in our portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
● Evaluate the technical design, feasibility, and scalability of proposed Hybrid Vehicle embedded systems
● Review system architecture, integration requirements, and deployment pathways
● Identify potential risks, constraints, and optimization opportunities
● Assess product engineering and industrialization proposals (TRL-based)
● Advise on market dynamics and regulatory implications, and provide deployment insights across OEMs, suppliers and retrofit specialists and various vehicle categories
● Offer guidance on technical partnerships, supply chain, and technology sourcing strategies
● Contribute to defining implementation roadmaps and pilot project frameworks
● Support potential pre-sale and client engagement strategies for Hybrid Vehicle embedded system deployment
Who You Are (Background & Expertise)
● 10+ years of experience in the EV and hybrid vehicle sector, with a focus on embedded systems and range optimization solutions
● Experience in designing, productising, testing and deploying embedded systems (range optimization solutions a plus).
● Experience in project design, technical feasibility studies, and client-facing technical sales
● Strong knowledge of automotive control systems / powertrain / hybridization ecosystem and competitive landscape
Skills & Competencies
● Strong ability to translate technical performance into commercial value
● Deep familiarity with deployment and commissioning processes in range optimization systems
● Excellent communication and advisory skills, capable of working with founders and investors
● Analytical mindset with ability to identify risks and opportunities across the value chain
Languages
● Full professional proficiency in English
● Italian and/or another European language is a plus
