Individual Placement- IFRI- Catahoula Ranger District Bently, LA
Position Summary
Longleaf ecosystem restoration by using prescribed fire and timber management practices. Recreation facilities maintenance and improvements. Interns will have an opportunity to see all phases of prescribed fire management and managing for Red-cockaded Woodpecker (RCW) habitat management. Recreation projects will mostly be in developed campgrounds and maintenance of a 25 mile horse trail.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Member of a prescribed fire crew involved in prep, implementation, and rehab of prescribed fire burn units. Engine/dozer crewmember for fire suppression.
Marginal Duties
Assisting recreation program in maintenance of developed recreation areas and trails using a variety of tools.
Qualifications
This SCA Position is authorized under the Public Land Corps Authority. All participants must be between the ages of 16 and 30, inclusive, or veterans age 35 or younger. Participants must also be a citizen or national of the United States or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States. Hours served can be applied toward the Public Land Corps (PLC) hiring authority.
