Individual Placement - Oklahoma FWCO Fisheries Assistant
Position Summary
The Individual Placement will participate in efforts to monitor the movement and spawning success of invasive carp. They will have the opportunity to collect and tag adult bigheaded carp and collaborate with biologists to determine the timing and location of these species' movements. These initiatives will provide valuable information to partners, aiding in the development of management strategies aimed at preventing the spread and potentially reducing the current population of bigheaded carp in the Red River system. Ultimately, these efforts benefit the community by mitigating the spread of another invasive species, which could otherwise lead to declines in native and sport fish populations that local residents rely on for recreation.
