Individual Placement #5 - Texas Environmental Education & Career Pathways
Position Summary
This internship supports the development and facilitation of a semester-long experience for students at Endeavor Alternative School focused on environmental careers, hands-on learning, and youth-driven leadership.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
The intern will design and lead weekly programming aligned with career exploration, environmental literacy, and a culminating student capstone project. The role includes event planning, relationship-building, and logistical coordination of both in-class activities and one community-based environmental project.

Collaborating as part of a 5 person cohort of ForUsTree Interns.
Required Qualifications
- Strong interest in environmental education, sustainability, or green workforce development
- Comfortable working directly with high school youth in diverse, nontraditional learning environments
- Strong communication skills, including public speaking, group facilitation, and one-on-one engagement
- Experience in leading or co-facilitating workshops, activities, or small group sessions (formal or informal)
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and manage time independently
- Willingness to take initiative, problem-solve, and adapt to changing group dynamics or student needs
- Interest in youth mentorship, civic engagement, or educational equity
- Ability to work both independently and in collaboration with program staff and school partners
- Professionalism in communicating with school staff, community partners, and students
- Basic understanding of environmental topics such as conservation, sustainability, food justice, or urban greening
- Must pass required background check(s) and onboarding steps
- Availability to be on-site 5 days per week during Endeavor's school day (7:45 AM to 3:55 PM) And occasionally work Saturdays for events as needed

Compensation
Living allowance: $850
One week Orientation and training provided.
