Urban Forestry Young Adult Crew Member
Position Description
The East Bay Urban Forestry Crew will work as a team with local park and city staff on various urban forestry projects to address issues of tree canopy in disadvantaged communities.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Project Location: East Bay Area
All crew members will have on-the-job training with SCA and partner staff to complete different projects throughout various parks and city property that will include:
- Tree care including watering, pruning, and mulching
- Tree mapping and inventory
- Education and outreach about urban forestry
Crew Members will be trained in tool usage, worksite and personal safety measures, member wellness, job hazard assessments, and conflict resolution. Members will work in outdoor environments all while learning new skills. Being excited and open to new experiences is a huge advantage for members. The team will consist of 2 members, 1 assistant leader and 1 leader. Crew Members meet at a centralized pick-up and drop-off location (TBD closer to date) and are transported to their work site each day in an SCA provided vehicle. Each member will share in the responsibility of the care and management of SCA provided vehicles and trailers.
Required Qualifications
- Experience or interest with conservation work skills or related skills preferred – i.e., trail maintenance, trail construction, habitat restoration, chainsaw, carpentry, landscaping, and gardening.
- Ability to perform manual, physical labor for up to 8 hours per day, exposed to the elements, and must occasionally lift and/or move 40 pounds or more.
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
- Must have the ability to legally work in the US

35 per week

Compensation
$753 weekly, bi-weekly pay
All allowances are subject to applicable federal, state, and local taxes.
