Technology, Strategy, and Data Internship at the Golden Gate National Park Conservancy

Position Summary

The Golden Gate Parks Conservancy engages at the intersection of national park sites, local communities, social justice, and climate resilience. Collaborating with partners, our staff are dedicated to enhancing public awareness and providing volunteer and educational opportunities in the parks. As a Technology, Strategy & Data Intern, you will work with our IT team to help update and develop organization-wide policies related to IT strategy and data management. You will support projects such as designing and conducting employee surveys on technology and data usage and assessing current IT contracts and programs. This internship is an opportunity for those eager to apply academic insights to real-world challenges in a mission-driven environment.

April 14, 2025 - October 13, 2025

Monday - Friday

This position is based at 102 Fort Mason in San Francisco, with work performed in an office setting and occasional travel to other Golden Gate Conservancy sites.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Data Projects
    • Assist in updating and developing organization-wide IT strategy and data policies.
    • Develop and conduct employee surveys to assess IT and data usage and satisfaction.
    • Support assessments of existing IT contracts and programs.
  • Data Collection & Reporting
    • Collect, analyze, and prepare reports on IT operations and performance metrics.
    • Collaborate with team members to document processes and share findings with stakeholders.
  • Collaborative Support
    • Work with various departments to ensure technology initiatives align with the Conservancy's mission.
    • Contribute ideas and insights to improve technology solutions in support of conservation goals.

Required Qualifications

  • Educational Background
    • Minimum 18 + yrs old, must have High School Diploma or Equivalent
    • Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate from any educational program with a strong interest in technology strategy, data analysis, or related areas.
  • Core Skills
    • Ability to think critically about technology and data and to communicate insights clearly.
    • Demonstrated effectiveness in working on diverse teams and a commitment to inclusive practices.
    • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with data analysis tools or survey design is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of IT systems and digital operations is helpful but not required.

Member responsible for own housing

Compensation

Living Allowance - $640/week

All allowances are subject to applicable federal, state, and local taxes.
