Wilderness Ranger Internship
This internwill serve for 13 weeks alongside other SCA interns. Interns will assist with field and office work specifically related to federally designated wilderness areas. The crew will assist with wilderness monitoring and wilderness trail work, update wilderness records in the office, and may assist the wilderness kayak ranger for up to 10 days in the field to collect data and also assist with other duties associated with the Petersburg Ranger District Recreation program. These positions are predominately outdoors, in a cool and wet environment. The intern should have experience kayaking and will be attending USFS kayak training in mid-May.
Program Dates:
Start Date - May 13, 2024
End Date - August 11, 2024
Compensation:
- $1500 one-time roundtrip travel allowance
- $425/week living allowance
- $200 boot stipend (reimbursable)

Educational/Recreational Opportunities:
The intern will have the opportunity to learn about the management of federally designated wilderness areas. The intern will have the opportunity to learn about the local flora and fauna. Recreation activities include kayaking, hiking, and camping.
