Internship - Trails and Recreation Participant on the Lincoln RD
Position Summary
The internship involves working on the Lincoln Ranger District's Developed Recreation crew. The crew is responsible for maintaining four rental cabins, two pay campgrounds, two non-pay campgrounds, and numerous trailheads and dispersed camping sites throughout the Helene-Lewis and Clark National Forest in Montana. Work duties include mowing and weed-eating, sign maintenance, and other facility maintenance. There should also be an opportunity to work with the trail crew or other resource areas.

Cleaning and Maintenance of Developed Recreation Sites.
Marginal Duties
Trail clearing, shop and tool cache organization, cleaning, and maintenance.
Required Qualifications
Valid State Driver's License
This SCA Position is authorized under the Public Land Corps Authority. All participants must be between the ages of 16 and 30, inclusive, or veterans age 35 or younger. Participants must also be a citizen or national of the United States or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States. Hours served can be applied toward the Public Land Corps (PLC) hiring authority.

Living Accommodations
Forest Service Bunkhouse in double occupancy room, but most likely filled to single occupancy. Each bunk house has 4 bedrooms, two bathrooms with showers, two fridges, range with oven, microwave, and all cookware and dishes needed.
Compensation
- $1,100 Round Trip Travel Allowance (Paid once)
- $360/week living allowance (Paid bi-weekly)
- Housing is provided in Forest Service bunkhouse
- Field Service Uniform Package
- AmeriCorps eligible (Valued at $1,956) at fulfillment of 450 service hours
All allowances are subject to applicable federal, state, and local taxes.
