Internship - Ft. Lauderdale Invasive Species

About us:
The Student Conservation Association (SCA) is the largest provider of hands-on environmental conservation programs for youth and young adults. Program participants protect and restore national parks, marine sanctuaries, cultural landmarks, and community green spaces across the country.
Program Description:
You will be performing on-going research at the Invasive Plant Research facility, focusing on the biological control of invasive weeds in several south Florida ecosystems. You will plants in gardens and greenhouses to feed insect colonies for to control invasive weeds. You will periodically visit field sites to release and collect samples. Samples will be processed to support ongoing research to evaluate biological control of invasive weeds. EDUCATIONAL AND RECREATIONAL OPORTUNITIES: You will have the opportunity for field trips in the Everglades ecosystem to support research projects. It's easy to find sports, special events, shops, dining, diving, and more from the Blue Wave beaches to the exotic Everglades.
This internship is not AmeriCorps eligible.
Member Benefits:
Living Allowance: $600 per week
Relocation Travel: $1,100 one-time
Commuter Allowance: $30 per week
Housing Allowance: $1,400 per month
Member Qualifications:
- Driver's license
- Personal vehicle required.
Conditions of Employment
Required to demonstrate full vaccination status for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) with a food and Drug Administration (FDA) authorized or FDA-approved COVID-19 vaccine.
