Portfolio Manager (Houston)

? Compensation: $130,000-150,000 base + 30-50% bonus

I'm partnered with a national battery energy storage platform backed by a leading global infrastructure investor to hire a Manager, Portfolio Management & Project Finance focused on post-close execution, lender and tax equity reporting, and complex project-level financing events across a growing standalone BESS portfolio.

This is a highly cross-functional, execution-driven role ideal for someone experienced in managing Substantial Completion fundings, Term Conversions, covenant compliance, and tax equity structures. You’ll work closely with Legal, Accounting, Asset Management, Engineering, and external counterparties to ensure financings close smoothly and transition effectively into long-term portfolio management.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead SC fundings, Term Conversions, and other post-close financing events

• Manage CP trackers and coordinate lenders, tax equity, counsel, and engineers to drive funding close

• Oversee covenant compliance, DSCR calculations, liquidity testing, and required debt/tax equity reporting

• Review sources & uses, flow-of-funds, funding notices, and cash movement mechanics

• Build and maintain project finance and HLBV models, including waterfalls, capital accounts, and flip tracking

• Analyze funding mechanics, interest accruals, cash sweeps, and model-to-actual variances

• Formalize deal-to-portfolio handoff processes and improve post-close execution workflows

• Mentor analysts and support portfolio-level process improvements

Qualifications

• 5+ years in project finance, infrastructure finance, or renewable energy portfolio management

• Strong understanding of project finance debt and tax equity structures

• Hands-on experience with SC fundings, term conversions, and CP management

• Advanced Excel modelling skills (cash waterfalls, debt sizing, scenario analysis, HLBV)

• Familiarity with financing agreements and lender/tax equity reporting frameworks

• Strong organizational and communication skills in cross-functional environments
