At Stewart Glass, you will work in a state-of-the-art glass manufacturing facility in Logan, Ohio, collaborating with a highly skilled team in a dynamic, hands-on environment. We are seeking an Industrial Engineer preferably with electrical experience in an industrial manufacturing setting to support electrical system design, automation, and process optimization for our 24/7/365 solar glass production operations.
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Design, develop, integrate, and implement electrical systems, controls, and equipment supporting glass manufacturing operations.
- Oversee installation, testing, commissioning, and validation of electrical equipment, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Analyze manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies and apply data-driven optimization strategies (time and motion studies, workflow analysis, mathematical modeling, and simulation).
- Design and improve facility layouts for manufacturing lines and warehouses, optimizing space utilization, material flow, ergonomics, and safety compliance.
- Lead and implement automation, PLC programming, SCADA, instrumentation, and controls, improving system reliability and operational efficiency.
- Develop and maintain quality control systems and strategies, ensuring compliance with industry standards, electrical codes, OSHA expectations, and manufacturing best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, leadership, vendors, and contractors to execute process improvements, new technology integration, and facility expansions.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and production process issues, ensuring compliance with safety, performance, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare technical documentation, drawings, diagrams, procedures, and reports for internal leadership, audits, and project stakeholders.
- Ensure all projects meet quality, budget, timeline, and operational expectations.
- Provide on-site, full-time, hands-on engineering support in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED / DESIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering (required).
- U.S. Citizen or authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional engineering experience in manufacturing, industrial systems, automation, or related environments.
- Strong background in:
- Electrical/Mechanical design & system integration
- Control systems, instrumentation, and automation
- Process improvement, workflow analysis, modeling, and simulation
- Troubleshooting both electrical and production systems
- Experience with PLC programming, SCADA, automation platforms, and industrial communication networks.
- Working knowledge of electrical codes, safety standards, OSHA general industry expectations, and manufacturing best practices.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel (data analysis and reporting), Project, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical teams.
- Self-motivated, highly organized, detail-oriented, and hands-on problem solver.
SHIFT & WORK SCHEDULE
- This role is exempt (salary) and full-time, on-site in Logan, OH.
- Night shift position, although currently operating on a days-only training and scheduling period.
- Future operational schedule will align with manufacturing rotations, including:
- 12-hour shifts
- 4-on / 4-off rotation
- Continuous operations supporting solar glass panel production 24/7/365
