The Human Resources Manager manages Human Resources staff and plans, develops, recommends, and implements human resources activities, policies, procedures, and programs for an organization, assisting upper management as requested.

Essential Functions

  • Manages activities relating to staffing, employee education and training, management development, employee relations, benefits administration, and salary administration.
  • Responsible for effectively identifying, investigating and resolving employee relations issues.
  • Counsels and provides assistance to employees, and all levels of management, in employee or management issues relating to promotion, termination or disciplinary action.
  • Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.
  • Keeps records of insurance coverage, and personnel transactions, such as hires, promotions, transfers, and terminations.
  • Ensures workplace accidents are investigated and prepares reports for insurance carrier.
  • Participates in compensation and benefit surveys and/or conducts wage survey within labor market to determine competitive wage rate and remain apprised of current trends.
  • Writes separation notices for employees separating with cause, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
  • Prepares reports and recommends procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover.
  • Prepares and analyzes department budget to identify budget needs and/or reductions, and may allocate operating budget funds.
  • Manages and monitors employee programs
  • Administers pre-employment tests to applicants.
  • Prepares for ISO 9001 and other audits.

Required Education and Experience

  • 3 to 5 years of human resources management experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification.
  • ADP Workforce Now.
  • A bachelor’s degree in human resources or equivalent experience.
