About the Role

The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager will create and enforce a culture of safety within our organization and implement programs, policies and assessments to ensure Stellar Energy Global Infrastructure and its employees meet all legal and regulatory requirements and actively support occupational health and safety guidelines. The EHS Manager is the driver of creating a safety conscious culture at Stellar Energy Global Infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines.
  • Monitor operations to eliminate hazardous activities.
  • Maintain OSHA injury and illness recordkeeping and reporting requirements.
  • Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety.
  • Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to applicable regulations.
  • Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention.
  • Partner with Plant and Production Managers to ensure fabrication facility equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
  • Investigate accidents or incidents to discover root causes and coordinate with Human Resource to handle worker’s compensation claims.
  • Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures.
  • Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics.
  • Manage safety violation policy.
  • Administer the global safety training program.
  • Assists line and staff management to understand OSHA regulations and standards, including guidance on handling OSHA compliance, inspections, and citations.
  • Lead the weekly safety meetings and SEA Safety Committee.
  • Prepares for ISO 9001 and other audits.

Qualifications

  • Understanding of legal health and safety guidelines
  • Valid qualification in occupational health and safety

Required Skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook

Preferred Skills

  • Certificate in Safety Management
  • Bachelor degree in safety management or related field

Work Environment

This position is based at our fabrication facility which is an industrial environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, loud noise and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions.

Physical Demands

The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., however this is subject to change due to business needs.
