Environmental Health and Safety Manager

Summary Objective

The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager leads the development, implementation, and management of company-wide safety programs and environmental compliance initiatives. This position will oversee all aspects of EHS across our construction operations, ensuring a proactive safety culture, regulatory compliance, and the continuous improvement of health and safety performance on all job sites.

Required Functions:

  • Develop EHS policies and procedures in alignment with regulatory requirements and corporate goals.
  • Oversee EHS operations at project sites, including general contractors and subcontractors.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies during inspections, audits, or incident investigations
  • Develop and deliver training programs for staff on safety practices, hazard recognition, and emergency response.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action plans for accidents, near misses, and environmental violations.
  • Maintain and analyze safety performance metrics, trends, and leading indicators to drive improvement.
  • Development of site-specific safety plans (SSSPs), job hazard analyses (JHAs), and environmental controls.
  • Promote a strong safety culture, engaging employees at all levels and reinforcing accountability through coaching and recognition.
  • Manage and mentor a team of safety professionals.
  • Oversee the company's emergency response plans, PPE programs, environmental permitting, and sustainability initiatives where applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations
  • Prepares for ISO 9001 and other audits.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experienced in the development of corporate EHS policies and procedures.
  • Has extensive experience in field oversight of construction contractors.
  • Has both Union and Non-Union construction management/oversight.
  • Advanced competency level in the hazards associated with industrial construction.

Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position.

Travel

50% - Travel to project sites.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or related field required
  • 8 years of experience in the power or oil & gas industry
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification (minimum)

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or related field required
  • Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST)
  • First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor Certification

Work Authorization

Must be authorized to work in the USA.
