Summary Objective The Applications Manager is responsible for the lifecycle management, governance, and performance of the organizations core business applications. This role ensures enterprise applications are reliable, secure, integrated, and aligned with business needs. Initially, the Applications Manager will serve as the central point of accountability for all application-related activities, including vendor management and governance. Over time, the role will expand to include building and leading an internal applications team to further mature application ownership, governance, and delivery capabilities. Essential Functions Phase 1 Vendor & Governance Focus (Immediate) Own enterprise applications portfolio and enforce governance. Document lifecycle processes and oversee vendors/SLAs. Phase 2 Team Formation & Application Ownership (Mid-Term) Recruit and mentor application analysts. Formalize ownership and accountability with business partners. Phase 3 Portfolio Maturity & Strategic Enablement (Long-Term) Align applications with integration/data strategy. Drive rationalization, digital enablement, and measurable ROI. Key Responsibilities Application Governance Own and manage ERP, CRM, HRIS, MES, and other business applications. Define lifecycle roadmaps and ensure compliance/security alignment. Vendor Management Manage vendors, contracts, SLAs, and escalations. Negotiate renewals and enforce accountability. Business Partnership Engage stakeholders to define needs and prioritize solutions. Enable adoption with training and documentation. Integration & Data Alignment Ensure systems interoperate within enterprise integration/data strategy. Collaborate with IT and data teams to align applications with data warehouse, data lake, and blob storage. Support data governance by enforcing ownership, retention, and integration standards. Project Management Oversee application-related projects, upgrades, and vendor-led initiatives. Apply project management disciplines to ensure on-time, value-driven delivery. Team Leadership (Future) Build and lead an applications team as the business grows. Foster accountability, documentation, and continuous improvement. Qualifications Required ~5+ years managing enterprise applications (ERP, CRM, HRIS, MES). ~ Strong vendor management and governance experience. ~ Skilled in lifecycle management and integration principles. ~ Ability to engage effectively with business and IT stakeholders. ~ Experience with SaaS/Cloud applications and vendor-driven support. ~ Familiarity with ITIL/ITSM practices. ~ Demonstrated project management experience with enterprise applications. Preferred Experience in manufacturing, engineering, or operations environments. Exposure to integration platforms (Boomi, MuleSoft, Azure). Knowledge of data governance and compliance frameworks. Experience working with enterprise data strategies (warehouse, lake, blob). Previous mentoring or team leadership experience. Governance evangelist who positions controls as business enablers, not bureaucracy. Resilient and pragmatic: able to balance strategic rigor with the realities of a fast-moving, founder-led environment. Strong project management skills: capable of leading application rollouts, upgrades, and vendor-driven projects. Awareness of enterprise data strategies (warehouse, lake, blob) and ability to ensure applications align with data governance and integration requirements. Working Conditions Full-time, on-site with occasional remote flexibility. Participation in on-call rotation and after-hours maintenance as required. Supervisory Responsibility This position has supervisory responsibilities. Work Location This position will work out of our Main Office in Jacksonville, FL. This position is approved for partial telecommuting or working remotely as approved by the VP - Information Technology. Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position may require occasional weekend work. Travel Anticipated up to 10% travel for this position between the different Stellar Energy offices in Jacksonville. Work Authorization Must be authorized to work in the USA.
