This group is able to seek the best projects with the best clients because they deliver expertise that empower designers to create high performing buildings without compromising budget or function.Your Key ResponsibilitiesReview design documents, shop drawings, and trade submittals prepared by third parties for conformance with good building practice with respect to water intrusion, air leakage, vapor diffusion, thermal performance and differential movementAssist in Building Envelope design and construction document developmentInterface with architects, general contractors and sub-tradesLead meetings and document discussionsUndertake field review of both new construction and rehabilitation projects to confirm that the construction of the building envelope assemblies is proceeding per approved mock-ups and design documentPrepare site visit reports and use this database to generate Action Lists of outstanding deficiencies and track their resolutionUndertake field testing of selected elements of building envelope assemblies to confirm compliance with specified performance standards (primarily water infiltration and air leakage) and prepare reports outlining the results of these testsPerform forensic analysis of building envelope failuresAssist in field work associated with the assessment of existing buildings and the preparation of building envelope assessment reportsManages and coordinates small and large projects including project financialsOversee and mentor junior staff on projectsConducts business development to secure revenue-generating projectsPrepares proposals and establish project financial budgetsParticipates in continuing educationPerforms various office related tasksYour Capabilities and CredentialsExcellent knowledge of Building Science principles and Building Envelope assemblies6 years of experience in building science consultation or equivalent knowledge of building envelope systemsOrganizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks on multiple projectsProject management experienceAbility to work in a team environmentStrong customer service commitmentExcellent communication and documentation skillsProfessional attitudeCommitment to succeedPersistenceStrong work ethicPossess a valid driver's license with a good driving recordEducation and ExperienceDegree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or related field required.Registration either as a Professional Engineer or Registered Architect is a plus.This description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that may be required of the employee and other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or may be changed at any time with or without notice.Stantec is a place where the best and brightest come to build on each other’s talents, do exciting work, and make an impact on the world around us.
