Position: Head of Project Finance Advisory

Location: Global (Remote)

Experience: 10+ years in climate mitigation project finance (international experience required)

About the Role:


We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Project Finance Advisory to spearhead the structuring, negotiation, and execution of climate mitigation project finance deals. This individual will play a critical role in leading deal execution and collaborating with key stakeholders to enable projects to reach financial close as quickly as possible.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in international climate mitigation project finance. Prior experience as a project finance advisor is also required. A commitment to advancing global decarbonization efforts and addressing the climate crisis is essential. Our organization is focused on making it easier for the industry to originate, structure and finance climate mitigation projects.


Key Responsibilities:


• Lead climate mitigation project finance deals from origination to financial close, ensuring alignment with investment and risk management strategies.

• Structure and negotiate debt and equity financing arrangements for climate mitigation project finance deals.

• Manage relationships with lenders, investors, and financial institutions to secure optimal financing terms.

• Conduct due diligence on financial, regulatory and technical aspects of deals.

• Develop financial models and risk assessments to support decision-making and investment strategies.

• Collaborate with internal teams, including legal, engineering and business development, to ensure seamless execution of deals.

• Stay up to date on industry trends, regulatory changes and market dynamics affecting climate mitigation project finance deals.

• Provide strategic insights to enhance capital structuring and financing strategies.


Qualifications


Project Finance & Deal-Making Expertise:

• 10+ years of experience in climate mitigation project finance, with a strong international focus.

• Proven ability to execute complex deals, securing optimal financing terms, including debt structuring and investment analysis.

• Strong understanding of financial modeling, credit analysis and risk assessment.

• Experience negotiating project finance agreements, including term sheets, loan agreements and power purchase agreements (PPAs).

• Prior experience as a project finance advisor is required.


Project Finance Advisory:

 • Provide project financial guidance across the full project lifecycle including structuring, de-risking strategies and optimization of frameworks to accelerate the path to bankability, including identification of key constraints and alignment of technical, commercial, regulatory and financial components.

• Engage with sponsors, lenders, project managers, public authorities and other stakeholders to proactively address bankability requirements and shape commercially viable and sustainable project finance outcomes, on a timely manner.

• Lead high-level engagement with sponsors, lenders, project manager and public authorities to shape commercially viable and sustainable project outcomes.


Leadership & Strategic Thinking:


• Ability to lead deal teams and manage multiple climate mitigation project finance deals simultaneously.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills to interact with investors, lenders, and other external and internal stakeholders.

• Commitment to sustainability and global decarbonization efforts.

• Fluent in English; other languages are a plus.
