Generation Project Manager – Long-Term Contract

Duration: 1-year contract with potential for extension

Pay Range: $63–$68/hr

Per Diem: $100/per day

We are supporting a major energy-sector organization on a long-term project in the Central Virginia region. Our team is seeking an experienced Generation Project Manager to support a large-scale power generation facility upgrade and ongoing site initiatives. This role is ideal for someone with strong project management experience in industrial, utility, or power environments who can lead cross-functional teams, manage deliverables, and ensure project milestones are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee assigned projects within a large power generation environment, ensuring scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements are met.
  • Coordinate project planning, progress tracking, performance monitoring, and reporting.
  • Drive team alignment by providing leadership, direction, and strong communication across project stakeholders.
  • Support technical problem resolution and facilitate implementation of changes as needed.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with engineering, operations, construction teams, and site leadership.
  • Represent the project and organization in internal meetings and public forums when required.
  • Ensure project activities adhere to company standards, industry best practices, and regulatory expectations.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of industry experience in construction, engineering, project execution, finance, or management.
  • Minimum 3 years of direct project management experience leading complex industrial or utility-related projects.
  • Prior power plant or power generation experience required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management methodologies, performance monitoring, and project leadership.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to facilitate meetings and present updates to stakeholders.
  • Proven team-building, negotiation, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to coordinate technical issue resolution and effectively manage change throughout project lifecycle.
  • Ability to work with all levels of internal and external personnel in a professional and collaborative manner.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred: Engineering, Business, Construction Management, or related field.
