Senior Proposal Manager – Energy Storage & Renewable Projects

Location: Houston, TX (Preferred) | Arlington, VA | Alpharetta, GA

Pay Rate: $65-$70/hr

Contract Length: 6-Month Contract

A leading clean energy organization is seeking a Senior Proposal Manager to lead the development of complex proposals and contract negotiations for utility-scale energy storage and renewable energy projects. This position will play a critical role in managing the entire proposal lifecycle, from RFP review and bid strategy development through contract execution, while collaborating closely with engineering, commercial, legal, and sales teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple concurrent proposals for utility-scale energy storage and renewable energy projects.
  • Manage the full proposal lifecycle, including RFP/RFQ review, proposal development, compliance tracking, risk assessments, and final submission.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, commercial, legal, product management, and sales.
  • Support contract negotiations and oversee the transition from proposal submission through contract execution.
  • Develop proposal compliance matrices, commercial risk reviews, and bid strategies.
  • Drive continuous improvement of proposal processes, tools, and documentation standards.
  • Create and maintain proposal templates, content libraries, standard language, and supporting collateral.
  • Facilitate proposal review and approval meetings with executive stakeholders.
  • Maintain opportunity tracking and reporting through Salesforce and related systems.
  • Ensure all customer requirements are captured, addressed, and delivered on time.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Business, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • 8+ years of proposal management, bid management, capture management, or commercial proposal experience.
  • Experience managing large-scale, multi-million-dollar proposals within renewable energy, energy storage, EPC, utility, or power generation environments.
  • Strong understanding of proposal development, contract negotiation, and commercial risk management.
  • Experience working with engineering drawings, technical specifications, and commercial contracts.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Salesforce; experience with proposal management software is highly preferred.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
