Specific location details and expectations will be discussed during the interview process.Job Description:This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assignedPosition Responsibilities and Duties:Able to perform all duties of a safety representativeThorough understanding of basic electrical conceptsKnowledge of utility scale solar facilities and field circuitryElectrical substation knowledge and functionProvide electrical safety training and educationKnowledge of and comfortable in medium and high voltage environments as well as able to train safe work practices, learn and teach company clearance and operational proceduresAbility to identify and train isolating procedures and grounding conceptsIdentify leading and lagging indicatorsDevelop job specific safety plans and procedures, and see to implementationInspect job sites to ensure Company Safety Program and OSHA complianceProvide emergency response plans for projectsArrange for basic first aid training for job site personnelInvestigate and analyze bodily injury and property damage accidentsLead investigation of near miss and reportable offensesAbility to determine near miss/good catchCoordinate project safety programs with subcontractorsCompile and issue regular accident report summariesProvide updated information to employees regarding safety requirement updates or changesIdentify and handle project management personnel needing assistance, training, or discipline in meeting corporate safety guidelines and goalsWork with third party safety verification platforms for validation of company’s safety proceduresDevelop regional safety training’s, through onsite, local, and LMS based trainingCreate training and assist with trainers for various safety programsObserve and flag personnel for additional or follow up training’sParticipate in Corrective Action Plan developmentRegularly review and revise Electrical Safety Program documents, keeping current with industry code and best practicesAbility to Inspect and recertify regional live line toolsObjectives or Goals to Measure Performance:Reduction of frequency and severity of injury accidentsReduction of Workers’ Compensation, general liability, and property premiumsElimination of OSHA citationsDevelopment of positive attitudes on the part of employees regarding safe work practicesEnsure customer/client satisfactionImproved personal professional growth and educationImproved communication of compliance issues to field personnelProvide safety education and training with electrical emphasisReduce the cost of regional safety training and travel through local and LMS based trainingMinimum Skills or Experience Requirements:Have or work to obtain safety certification such as CSP, ASP, CHST, OHST, or CUSPBS in Occupational safety and health or 7 years in safety solar safety experience5 years’ experience in safety or safety related fieldWilling to travel 75%Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulationsThrough knowledge of NFPA 70eAbility to evaluate operations and maintenance work activities with respect to safety and loss controlAbility to recognize and analyze company trends with respect to company accidentsApplicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring employer sponsorship now or in the future.SOLV Energy Is an Equal Opportunity EmployerAt SOLV Energy we celebrate the power of our differences.
